check wmi and check counters on remote windows hosts

Is this possible today? It would be very nice if i could install nsclient++ on one central windows server and run the service as an account with domain access - then check remote wmi data and performance counters through rpc...
That way i wouldn't have to install the nsclient++ agent on every single server i need to monitor. (Not that i mind having it installed, but my boss thinks extra GNU software is scary on important production servers...)
I'd love to hear what you think.
