0.3.8 upgrade procedure [SOLVED]

Just a real quick question... I looked through the documentation, and didn't find an answer.

What's the proper way to upgrade clients that already have 0.3.7 installed?

1) Just a installation of 0.3.8 right over the top? 2) Uninstall 0.3.7 and install 0.3.8? 3) .. ?

The clients do, of course, need to retain their existing configuration (I will be creating a standard config using a 0.3.8 INI file template).

I'm working on creating a program in SCCM to upgrade my hundreds of clients, and I want to make sure I'm doing it the correct way. :)

Thanks!

Benny

    In the general case:

    Just install over...

If you use "keep old" settings file the old one will be kept (and used). If you click "use new" old one will be saved as .old or something like that I think (not 100% sure actually, was several months since I played with the installer).

It is prudent to make a backup of the config file I guess especially if you have a lot of customizations and such (one never knows :).

Scripts and such are replaced (and some are no longer available and names have changed) but before scripts shipping with the installer was "for show" now they are actually useful so should not be a problem (again I don't know your setup).

As with everything there are no guarantees and if you have done something strange this might not apply :)

All 0.3.x versions have compatible .ini files, some settings have been added some removed, but you should be able to up/down grade freely in that feature branch.
